Zoë Love Smith is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans image and sound. LOST MY HEAD ON A PEDESTAL is a cross-disciplinary project in which music and visual art emerge from the same artistic universe. The drawings are directly inspired by the emotional and conceptual world of her upcoming eponymous EP, created in collaboration with producer and guitarist May. By highlighting parts of the lyrics, she gives them emphasis or a different meaning. The form of the works is one she has been using for a long time, as notes or meditations on pieces of text she wants to remember. Originally small in scale, found in notebooks or on pieces of cardboard nailed to the wall, now presented on larger canvases for this exhibition. On view at Badhuis from May 1st. Opening May 3, 16.00.
