On Tuesday April 1st, we kick off our new Badhuis expo featuring Hester Kok. Hester is an Amsterdam based photographer. Her style is marked by intimacy and mystery, with a sense of wonder drawing from the beauty of atmospheric landscapes and the vulnerability and purity of human beings. She seeks to portray both people and their surroundings in their most authentic and free state of being. Freedom is a recurring theme in her work—not just in crossing borders and visiting places where freedom is challenged, but also in the quiet redemption within oneself. In capturing the tension between constraint and the search for release, she reveals the raw essence of being.
Come check out Hester’s work and join us for the opening on April 5th!

On Sunday June 1st, we kick off our new Badhuis expo featuring NÉNÉ. NÉNÉ (31) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Rotterdam whose work—ranging from paintings to installations—is deeply influenced by Afrofuturism. This philosophy helps her imagine identity beyond colonial frameworks, embracing a personal, norm-free perspective. Her series Alienation reflects an inner journey shaped by her bicultural background, capturing the feeling of living between worlds and sometimes feeling like an ‘alien’ in her own environment. A two-month stay in Tanzania deepened her connection to her African roots, making Alienation a culmination of self-discovery and a powerful expression of the strength found in her dual identity.
Come check out NÉNÉ’s work and join us for the opening on June 1st at 15.00.
